The two major political parties in Jigawa State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have disagreed over the allegation of non-performance by the ruling party in the state.

APC chairman Aminu Sani Gumel, at a media forum on Thursday, declared that contrary to claims by his PDP counterpart, Ibrahim Babandi Gumel, his party had fulfilled all the electoral promises made to Jigawa people during the 2015 and 2019 campaigns, therefore, there is no vacancy “for a failed party like PDP” in 2023.

The PDP chieftain, Gumel, said the party had resolved to salvage the country from its sorrowful situation to a more dynamic and democratic rule with a strong vision.

“It is a pity to note most of the promises made by the present leadership of the ruling APC right from the beginning, from the top down to state levels turned out to be a mirage as most were yet to be redeemed due to its failed agenda, to the extent that most Nigerians are convinced that APC was a colossal failure,” he said.

But the APC leader explained that the government in the state had succeeded in executing a minimum of one project in each of the 287 political wards across the 27 LGAs of the state.
