The New year Eve murder of a medical doctor, Uyi Iluobe in his hospital in Oghara, Ethiopia West Council Area of Delta has been generating reactions as the Nigerian Medical Association Delta State Chapter is latest to react to the unfortunate incident
Nigerian Medical Association in Delta State is calling on the Nigerian Police not to jump into hasty conclusion but rather do a full investigation of the gruesome killing of their colleague while appealing to the Delta state Governor to assist the family of the deceased doctor.
Addressing a press conference at the NUJ centre Asaba, the NMA executive led by its state Vice chairman, Anthony Okwunze condemned the killing especially at this time of massive exodus of doctors from the country.
The Delta State Police Command had earlier debunked the rumour of the family members of a supposedly dead patient responsible for the murder of the doctor. This is contained in statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Edafe Bright which also revealed that police has commenced investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile the Governor of Delta State also in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Olisa Ifeajika decried the gruesome murder, charging the police to do all they can to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
