The Israel occupation forces imposed a “comprehensive lockdown” on the West Bank and East Jerusalem on the first anniversary of “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” today, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.

According to the Hebrew-language media, the Israeli military authorities established a “complete security perimeter” around the occupied West Bank by closing crossing points into Israel to prevent the passage of Palestinian workers and imposing movement restrictions. The occupation army also decided to increase the presence of its forces and military checkpoints in the West Bank and across all flashpoints.

In advance of this, the Israelis launched large-scale raids last night in Palestinian towns and villages across the West Bank, amid reports of settler violence in some areas. Resistance fighters and local youths reportedly challenged Israeli forces in some parts of the occupied Palestinian territory.
