Emzor Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicating Malaria on World Malaria Day 2025
Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited joins the global health community in commemorating World Malaria Day 2025, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to the fight against malaria across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. This year’s theme, “Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,” mirrors Emzor’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality antimalarial medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kunle Faloye, Head of Marketing and Strategy, emphasized Emzor’s continued investment in research, development, and distribution, with over 20 antimalarial SKUs produced—including key combinations like Artemether/Lumefantrine and Sulfadoxine/Pyrimethamine.
To mark the day, Emzor organized health walks, free screenings, and antimalarial drug distributions, focusing on vulnerable groups, especially pregnant women and children under five, who bear the brunt of malaria mortality.
A highlight of Emzor’s current malaria control strategy is its multimillion-dollar API manufacturing plant in Sagamu, Ogun State, which is set to produce critical ingredients for WHO-recommended antimalarial therapies. This initiative is expected to boost local production capacity, reduce dependency on imports, and lower treatment costs continent-wide.
Mr. Emeka Okoli, Chairman of the Board, remarked, “With 95% of malaria cases occurring in Africa, our solutions must be African-led. Emzor’s pioneering API project is a bold step toward that future.”
The company remains dedicated to partnering with governments, NGOs, and communities to drive sustainable health outcomes in Africa.
