Girls’ Brigade Honours Rev. Mother Abimbola Ajayi as Grand Matron

The Girls’ Brigade has honoured Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi with the prestigious title of Grand Matron at a colourful parade and installation ceremony held on August 23, 2026, at the Love of Christ Generation Church, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event brought together members of the Brigade, church leaders and distinguished guests to celebrate Ajayi’s dedication to the work of God and her support for the growth and development of the organisation.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the formal installation of Rev. Mother Ajayi as Grand Matron, in recognition of her unwavering commitment to Christian service, mentorship and the advancement of the Girls’ Brigade.

The General Secretary of the Unification Church, Senior Prophet Tayo Ajose, graced the occasion and was also honoured as Grand Patron of the Girls’ Brigade in recognition of his support and encouragement of the organisation.

Speaking at the event, Ajose said the Cherubim and Seraphim Church was proud of the Girls’ Brigade for recognising Ajayi’s continued dedication to the things of God.

He described the honour as significant, saying, “This appreciation and recognition award is very important and special.”

In her acceptance speech, Ajayi expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her, describing her new role as both an honour and a call to greater service.

She said the recognition was not only about her but about the work of God and the values the Girls’ Brigade represents.

“The Girls’ Brigade represents discipline, faith, and service, and I am committed to supporting these young women as they grow into leaders who will shine the light of Christ in every sphere of life,” she said.

Ajayi further prayed for strength to continue building a generation grounded in “love, excellence, and dedication” to God’s work.

The ceremony also featured a coordinated parade by members of the Girls’ Brigade, whose display of discipline, teamwork and precision added colour to the occasion.

The twin recognition of Rev. Mother Ajayi as Grand Matron and Senior Prophet Ajose as Grand Patron underscores the importance of leadership, mentorship and service in sustaining the vision of the Girls’ Brigade.
