Police Bust Alleged Baby Factory in Ogun, Rescue Two Pregnant Women, Four Children

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have busted an alleged baby factory in the Mowe area of the state, rescuing two pregnant women and four children while arresting six suspects in connection with the operation.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to Babaseyi, the operation was conducted at about 8am on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Toluwalase Street, Abaren Village, via Gbarinmole, Mowe, following sustained intelligence on alleged human trafficking and illegal adoption activities at the facility.

He said the two pregnant women rescued during the operation were 23-year-old Ilesanmi Foluke, who was seven months pregnant, and 20-year-old Ejekwa Melody, who was eight months pregnant.

Four children—two boys and two girls—were also rescued from the facility.

The police spokesperson identified the arrested suspects as Florence Glory Ogbona, 58; Magdalene Julius, 63; Chidike Egwuonwu, 40; Onyechu Chidike, 35; Stephen Ogbona, 39; and an attending nurse, Oseni Kusamotu Idaya.

The suspects are expected to assist investigators in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the alleged trafficking and illegal adoption activities.

The police command said further investigation into the case is ongoing.
