Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu has broken down in tears while recounting the difficult period he endured during his health crisis, saying some of his friends deserted him when he needed them most.

Agwu, speaking emotionally about the ordeal, recalled how he coined the term “music comedy”, stressing that the creativity behind the expression was evidence of how his mind worked.

> “Music comedy, I’m the one who stayed and formed that coinage. I’m the one that formed it. That’s to tell you how my brain is working.”

The comedian then became emotional while reflecting on the people he believed had a role in what happened to him and those who abandoned him during his darkest moments.

> “The God wey I dey serve, anybody wey get hand for wetin happen to me. I will be there and ask myself, what kind of life is this?”

Agwu also alleged that some of his close associates turned their backs on him, including a bishop who, according to him, had been managing him and collected his money before communication between them eventually stopped.

> “My friends deserted me. This bishop that I’m talking about, he was managing me, he collected my money, they stopped talking to me. It is well.”

The comedian’s emotional revelation brings renewed attention to the difficult chapter of his life following a serious health crisis in 2015.

Agwu underwent brain surgery in the United States that year, where two growths were reportedly removed from his brain. He has previously recounted how critical his condition became, including his claim that he died and later regained consciousness while being taken to the mortuary.
