Intriguing but sad news reported by TV3 and reshared by Yen.com details how a parent fainted upon finding out the son who was meant to be graduating was actually still in year 2.
Per the account of Yen, the parent passed out during the graduation ceremony of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at the Dean of Students’ office.
In this regard, the University Relations Officer at KNUST, Dr. Norris Bekoe, encouraged parents to request proof of school fees payment from their ward to avoid awkward situations like this.
Dr Norris Bekoe rightly pointed out that some students owing to several factors perform abysmally in school which is why they end up obtaining Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) which is below the passing mark yet their parents have no knowledge of it.
When that happens, they are forced to reply for fresh admission and start all over again sometimes, without the knowledge of their parents.
