Fast-rising Filmmaker and Public Relations Expert, Samuel Olatunji is over the moon as his very first movie Dear Affy bagged four nominations at the highly-revered Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Samuel Olatunji popularly known as Bigsam took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude to God and his team. Dear Affy was directed by Bigsam and features superstars such as Toyin Abraham, Eyinnaya Nwigwe, Timini Egbuson, Williams Uchemba, Kehinde Bankole, Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Ademoye, and other amazing movie stars.
Dear Affy tells the story of an organized ardent female art enthusiast who is about to marry a man of her cherishing dreams then faces sudden obstacles and challenges after becoming pregnant accidentally even before her marriage. This spoiled her well-prepared laid out plans and strategies and she embarks on a challenging mission in search of the father of the unborn baby. The Movie was produced by Wale Osagie and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment.
An elated Bigsam poured out his heart on his Instagram page talking about how the movie, Dear Affy was made with blood and sweat. In the words of the Filmmaker ”ONE film by a FIRST timer, FOUR nominations! Four AMVCA Nominations for #dearaffy, a movie made with sweat and blood. It was my first feature film. My first movie after an experimental short film.

I am humbled. Grateful. And appreciative of the team God put around me. I promise you, we are all going to do greater things together in 2022 (Have six slates of films to direct or co-direct, but will definitely be producing alongside my usual suspect, @waleosagie ).
When I wake up properly, I will tell you about this movie. It was a risk that took me putting EVERYTHING on the table. The movie changed me. From good to bad, bad to good, I doubted myself, I believed. It threw everything at me. It made me go back to school again, that is, after my initial formal filmmaking classes with the legendary @tkelani . This movie drained me. It replenished me. Cost me relationships, birth new ones. It gave birth to a new me.
It was a journey we had with #dearaffy . As I will be announcing the lead cast and other cast members and crew for my new movie project this week, the shock will be palpable, it is another journey with risk and faith but this time we are wiser, more knowledgeable, we won’t make the mistakes of the past. And I dare say, we are now better filmmakers. Our next film will be something else! Action comedy like never before.

After releasing Dear Affy, Samuel Olatunji went on to release another box office hit in Mimi The Movie.
His newest directorial project, City of Dreams is due for release soon featuring the richest Nollywood Actor, Zubby Michael alongside Yvonne Jegede and other superstars.
