The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Friday, spoke on the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo supporting his presidential ambition in 2023.
The former vice president noted that he believes his former boss would support his ambition to rule Nigeria at the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
Atiku further stated that he does not think the elder statesman has a better presidential candidate to support than himself.
The PDP presidential candidate, while giving the reason for his belief, said he has plans to continue the legacies of Obasanjo if he wins the 2023 race.
Atiku stated this while speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Friday morning.
The former Vice President, when asked if he has his former boss’s support, said, ”I have been talking to Olusegun Obasanjo, I assume I have his support, I don’t think he has a better partner to support than myself because I have his legacies to continue.”
Atiku on different occasions had reached out to his former boss, Obasanjo, who seems not to be in support of his presidential ambition.
Recall that Obasanjo recently stated that he made a mistake picking Atiku as his running mate in 1999.
