“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart”, with this famous quote by Roy T. Bennet, a full-blooded Lagos Islander, Mr. Kayode Adumadeyin has called on Lagos Island youths in particular and Nigerian youths in general to dare to dream big, believe in their dreams and work hard to achieve it.
He made the call in Lagos when representatives of Lagos Island youths he has mentored over time, paid him a courtesy visit in appreciation of his mentorship to them over the years.
He reassured the youths that they can make a difference and even be change-makers of global impact, bequeathing a lasting legacy to the world, as dreams are possible and aspirations are within reach.
In the same vein, he made the youths realise that things can be difficult at times and journey through life can be an uphill task, but determination, focus and perseverance would see them through. Therefore, they should see beyond the present moment and envision a future far beyond their wildest imagination.
He emphasized that youths in their twenties and thirties around the world are the generation that will shape the future, innovate and create new ideas to solve the world’s most pressing problems of today; as he tasked the youths to believe in themselves, imagine themselves in leadership positions and take pragmatic steps towards achieving their goals.
He encouraged the youths not to let anyone tell them their dreams are too big, too crazy, or impossible because success is at the other side of fear and they have the power to make their dreams come to reality. “Rather ask yourself, why not me, and not, why me”, he opined.
