NSCDC, EFCC Strengthen Partnership in Ekiti, Seek Deeper Intelligence-Sharing

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has renewed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the fight against crime and insecurity in the state.

The Commandant of the NSCDC, Ekiti State Command, Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Mr Ahmed Usman, at his office along Old Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti.

The visit was aimed at deepening the existing relationship between both agencies and identifying additional areas of cooperation, particularly in intelligence sharing, security operations and capacity building.

Commandant Sotiyo commended the EFCC for its proactive efforts in tackling financial crimes in Ekiti State, noting that the fight against criminality requires strong collaboration among security and law-enforcement agencies.

He highlighted the NSCDC’s statutory responsibilities, particularly the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), as well as its capacity for rapid response to emergencies across the state.

The Commandant solicited the continued support and partnership of the EFCC, stressing that stronger inter-agency cooperation would enhance the ability of both organisations to prevent and respond effectively to criminal activities.

Responding, the Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Mr Ahmed Usman, commended the NSCDC for its invaluable role in protecting EFCC facilities before and after the commencement of the Commission’s operations in Ekiti State.

He acknowledged the existing synergy between the two agencies, particularly in operational matters, and called for its further strengthening.

Usman emphasised the importance of sustained intelligence sharing and joint training, noting that closer collaboration among security agencies would improve crime prevention, operational effectiveness and overall security across the state.

The visit culminated in the presentation of a commemorative plaque to the Acting Zonal Director by Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, as a symbol of the growing partnership between the NSCDC and EFCC.
