Accord Secretary Asks Court to Disqualify Party’s 2027 Candidates Over Alleged Usurpation of Role
Adebukola Ajaja, the National Secretary of the Accord Party, has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking the disqualification of all candidates of the party for the 2027 general election over alleged violations of the party’s constitution and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/2524/2026, was filed on October 21, 2026, through her lawyer, Edmund Biriomoni.
Ajaja is challenging what she describes as an alleged usurpation of her role, alongside purported breaches of the party’s constitutional provisions and INEC guidelines governing the nomination of candidates for elections.
She is asking the court to disqualify all Accord Party candidates for the 2027 general election over the alleged infractions.
Ajaja previously represented Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015.
The outcome of the suit could have implications for the party’s preparations for the 2027 general election, depending on the court’s findings and the reliefs granted.
The allegations remain subject to judicial determination.
