Alleged Replacement of Trained INEC Ad-Hoc Staff in Osun Raises Election Integrity Concerns

@inecnigeria, reports reaching us indicate that INEC officials in Osogbo may have altered the original list of trained Presiding Officers and other ad-hoc personnel ahead of tomorrow’s election.

Specifically, in Egbedore, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West LGAs, among others, the names of Presiding Officers and their assistants reportedly changed suddenly this morning.

What is particularly disturbing is the allegation that some of the newly posted names were neither on the original shortlist nor among those who attended the prescribed INEC training. Meanwhile, corps members and other ad-hoc personnel who were trained and prepared for the election are reportedly being replaced.

If confirmed, this is a serious threat to the credibility, transparency and integrity of the electoral process.

INEC must urgently investigate these allegations, publish the authentic final list of trained electoral officials for the affected LGAs, and explain any last-minute changes before voting begins.

The people of Osun deserve an election conducted by properly recruited and trained officials—not a process clouded by unexplained substitutions.
