Gaza Death Toll

The death toll in Gaza has risen to 50,357 as Israeli airstrikes killed at least 80 more Palestinians, the territory’s Health Ministry reported on Monday. The ongoing conflict, which began in October 2023, has also left 114,400 people injured.

According to the ministry, 53 bodies were brought to hospitals on Sunday, the first day of Eid al-Fitr, while 305 more people sustained injuries in the past 48 hours. Many victims, it added, remain trapped under rubble, with rescuers unable to reach them.

Israel’s latest aerial attacks follow a March 18 offensive that killed over 1,000 people, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement reached in January.

International legal bodies have taken action against Israeli leaders. Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Separately, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

As airstrikes continue, humanitarian concerns grow, with thousands of civilians still in dire need of aid and rescue efforts hindered by ongoing attacks.
