Jewellery Debt Scandal: Ojasope Shogbesan Under Fire Over Alleged Unpaid Bill

Socialite Ojasope Shogbesan has come under intense scrutiny following allegations that he allegedly failed to settle payment for jewellery reportedly obtained from a dealer over several years.

The jewellery dealer, Shade, alleged that despite transactions involving multiple currencies, she had yet to receive payment from Shogbesan.

According to Shade, her repeated attempts to resolve the matter peacefully eventually led her to demand the return of the jewellery. She alleged that Shogbesan refused, reportedly telling her that he could not return the items because “his sweat was already on the jewellery.”

The dispute later became public after a popular blogger intervened and discussed the matter during a live broadcast.

Shade said Shogbesan subsequently called into the programme and pledged to settle the outstanding debt by July. She alleged, however, that the promise was not followed by payment.

She further claimed that Shogbesan later stopped taking her calls and blocked her telephone lines, while attempts by mutual associates to mediate the dispute also allegedly failed.

The development has raised questions over the circumstances surrounding the alleged jewellery transaction and why the matter has remained unresolved despite the reported public commitment to settle the debt.

Efforts to obtain Shogbesan’s response were unsuccessful, as his known Nigerian telephone line remained switched off at press time.

The allegations remain claims by the jewellery dealer and have not been independently established. Shogbesan’s response was not available as of press time.
