Kemi Olunloyo Distances Herself from Olunloyo Family, Rejects Condolences Over Father’s Death
Controversial media personality and daughter of the late former Oyo State Governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, Kemi Olunloyo, has publicly disassociated herself from the Olunloyo family following her father’s passing on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
In a series of Facebook posts and videos, the outspoken activist declared she would not be accepting condolences, reiterating that she ceased being part of the family in 2024 and had vowed never to return to Nigeria—even if her parents died.
“I am NOT part of the Olunloyo family anymore,” she stated. “If you want to condole with my father or his family, go to Facebook.com/omololuolunloyo. I’m not accepting anybody’s condolences.”
In her emotional exposé, Kemi accused her late father of being two-faced—one persona for the public, and another at home. She alleged that he emotionally and physically abused his children, fractured the family unit, and was deeply involved in occult practices before reportedly turning to Christianity in later life.
“My father destroyed our family unit… He tortured us emotionally and physically,” she said. “He was into ‘juju’ heavily. After I called him out on his 80th birthday, he went to Pastor Adeboye to become born-again.”
Olunloyo also revisited family tragedies, alleging her brother Tayo’s life and future were derailed by injuries sustained during the “Ali Must Go” protests, and accused unnamed family members of destroying his destiny.
She attributed much of the family’s internal strife to her father’s relationship and eventual marriage to a woman named Ronke Sonaike, whom she described as a former campaign staffer turned concubine and stepmother. Kemi claimed Ronke’s entry into their lives marked the beginning of severe spiritual and familial troubles, including an alleged poisoning attempt on her mother and dark spiritual practices within the household.
The emotional fallout, she noted, culminated in a lack of access to her father during his final years after suffering a stroke in 2021. “Nobody had access to him,” she said, blaming her stepmother for isolating him from the rest of the family.
While she acknowledged forgiving her father, Olunloyo made it clear she has emotionally and spiritually moved on from the Olunloyo lineage.
The revelations have sparked online conversations around family trauma, generational pain, and the complexity of public versus private legacies.
