Naija Lives Matter Urges Governor Dapo Abiodun to Clear Name of Allegations
A politically non-partisan group, Naija Lives Matter (NLM), has publicly called on Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun to address and clear his name of multiple allegations of fraud, crime, and mismanagement.
In an open letter titled “Naija Lives Matter Levels 21 Allegations of Fraud, Crime and Mismanagement Against Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State”, the group, founded by Dr. Ope Banwo, demanded transparent investigations by the EFCC, ICPC, Ogun State House of Assembly, and the people of Ogun State.
The allegations, although not yet proven, were said to be serious enough to warrant public scrutiny. NLM emphasized that the people deserve clear answers, particularly given the gravity of issues such as certificate forgery, contract inflation, electoral fraud, and alleged financial mismanagement of over ₦200 billion.
The organization clarified that its action is part of its #HoldYourGov campaign under the Make Nigeria Great Again (MANGA) initiative, aimed at promoting citizen accountability at all levels of governance. Dr. Banwo stressed that NLM’s call is not politically motivated, nor connected to the Obidient Movement, but rather a moral and civic responsibility.
“For too long, we’ve focused all outrage on Aso Rock while our local leaders operated unchecked,” NLM noted, pledging to hold state and local officials to the same standards.
