Rite Foods Earns Top 50 Impact Companies Honour, Sets Sustainability Pace
Rite Foods Limited has been recognised among Nigeria’s Top 50 Companies of Impact for 2026 at the Industry Newspaper Awards, in recognition of its contributions to innovation, job creation, sustainability and national economic development.
The award celebrates Nigerian companies delivering measurable economic and social value through business innovation, environmental responsibility, employment generation and community development.
Rite Foods was specifically recognised for its investments in modern manufacturing infrastructure, technology, product development and sustainable business practices, as well as its contribution to local value creation and the growth of Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The indigenous food and beverage company has built a growing portfolio of consumer brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drinks, Fearless Energy Drink, Rite Spicy Beef Sausage, Bigi Beef Sausage and Bigi Flex Sausage.
Through continuous innovation, the company has expanded its product offerings with new flavours and packaging formats designed to meet changing consumer preferences while maintaining affordability and quality.
Speaking on the recognition, Goddie Ofose, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Executive Officer of Industry Newspaper, said the Top 50 Companies of Impact award was designed to honour organisations making tangible contributions to Nigeria’s economic transformation.
Ofose said Rite Foods stood out for its commitment to innovation, environmental preservation, sustainability and community development.
He particularly highlighted the company’s Waste-Is-Naira (W.I.N.) programme and Riteonthebeach initiative, which promote plastic waste recovery, environmental awareness and cleaner communities.
According to him, the initiatives demonstrate how corporate sustainability programmes can extend beyond the factory environment to address pressing environmental challenges in society.
Ofose also commended Rite Foods’ energy strategy, noting that 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption comes from cleaner sources, including natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for about five per cent.
He said the approach had helped the company reduce its environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency.
The Industry Newspaper chief also praised Rite Foods’ corporate social responsibility interventions in education, healthcare and economic empowerment, describing them as important contributions to community development.
Reacting to the award, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, said the recognition reflected the company’s commitment to creating value beyond its commercial operations.
Eze said the company’s impact spans innovation, human capital development, sustainability, community engagement and support for initiatives contributing to national development.
He added that innovation remained central to Rite Foods’ strategy, with sustained investments in product development, technology and manufacturing capabilities enabling the company to respond to changing consumer needs.
“For us, innovation is not simply about introducing new products. It is about understanding consumers, investing in people and technology, improving our processes, and creating products and solutions that deliver value,” Eze said.
He added that the latest recognition would further strengthen the company’s resolve to deepen its impact across Nigeria.
The honour adds to a growing list of recognitions received by Rite Foods for its leadership, innovation, business performance and sustainability efforts.
The company said the recognition reinforces its commitment to building a proudly Nigerian enterprise operating to global standards while continuing to invest in its people, communities, technology, sustainability and the future of Nigeria’s consumer economy.
