ROTARY CLUB OF IKEJA ALAUSA COMMEMORATES BASIC EDUCATION AND LITERACY MONTH IN GRAND STYLE

The Rotary club of Ikeja Alausa under the leadership of Rotarian Tonna Beatrice Oguzie Ofuasia PHF commemorated the World Basic Education and Literacy Month in grand style as the club hosted young primary school pupils and teachers to an impactful training on Driving sustainable development through Child and Youth Digital Education.

The event which was held on Wednesday 21st September, 2022 at Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa Information and Technology Centre, Olusosun Primary School Oregun Lagos.

Rotary encourages all clubs in this month of September to put into consideration education and literacy drive for young girls and pupils who are in or either out of school.

The Rotary club of Ikeja Alausa in collaboration with Omith Solution and GMS Systems ensured that young school students of Olusosun primary school were adequately equipped with primary and basic skills needed to develop their knowledge in information technology.

At the end of the training, certificate of participation was awarded to all the participants and Exercise books donated to the school.

 

Also in attendance at this training are Distinguished Rotarians of the club, Bunmi Ogunkunle, Thomas Iwo, Jide-Ojo Olajide Olusola, Sunny Ohwo lead by the Vice President; Rot. Afolabi Babatunde.

According to the Club Vice Presiden: “Rotary club is known for giving back to the society and the club shall continue to help and support the government and community to build a better society because service to humanity is the best way to imagine Rotary”

The Head Teacher Olusosun Primary School Headteacher, Mrs Fagbemi Eunice Funmilayo added; “The school needs Rotary to continue to help fill the knowledge gaps that might have been created in the community and we will keep appreciating Rotary club of Ikeja Alausa and solicited for more positive partnership in this regards”.
