From emirs to kings, Oba, Igwe, Amanyanabo, Obong- Nigeria’s traditional rulers are increasingly being humiliated by politicians, ridiculed and mocked by young people who see them as representing an archaic institution.

From history, we know that until about 61 years ago, Nigeria was not a country. Its component parts has been in existence, running its affairs, with their respective leaders,  had been city states, kingdoms, empires, caliphate etc., run by traditional authorities who were selected not by popular votes as is done in a present democracy but by respective regions way of selecting their leaders,

These leaders, run the affairs of their region by truth and contentment, they earn respect from their people by who they are and what they did.

The coming of Nigeria State has reduce these leaders, making them looked down on my their subjects, people no longer respect their leaders, few fear them because of the power they possess not because of who they are,

Many are asking how did our traditional leaders, relinquish their power to politicians, that Politician now install and uninstall traditional leaders,

Is amazing how a four year elected leader (Politician ) can uninstall a life time appointed leader, (traditional leaders).
