Former Dutch strikers and Soccer Stars Patrick Kluivert and Ruud van Nistelrooy were born on the exact same day- 1 July 1976. But despite being the same age, they peaked at different times and rarely represented their national team together.

Kluivert peaked earlier, debuting for Ajax in August 1994 at the age of 18, having come through the youth ranks- and becoming the youngest goal scorer in a UCL final (18 years and 327 days) in Ajax’s 1-0 win over AC Milan on 24 May 1995- before later playing for the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Newcastle, Valencia, PSV and Lille.

For Van Nistelrooy, he started his professional career at Dutch second division side Den Bosch, where he played from 1993 to 1997- before leaving for Heerenveen- and then later gained more prominence playing for the likes of PSV, Manchester United and Real Madrid. He joined Hamburger from Real Madrid and last played for Malaga.

At international level, Kluivert played for Netherlands from 1994 to 2004, scoring 40 goals in 79 appearances while Van Nistelrooy played from 1998 to 2011, scoring 35 goals in 70 appearances.

Van Nistelrooy scored his last international goal against Hungary on 25 March 2011- seven years after Kluivert’s last international goal.
