Awoniyi Wins Beyond the Pitch Award at 2026 Best of Africa Awards

Super Eagles striker and proud Yoruba son, Taiwo Awoniyi, has won the Beyond the Pitch Award at the 2026 Best of Africa Awards in recognition of his philanthropic activities and contributions to grassroots football development.

The honour celebrates Awoniyi not only for his achievements as a professional footballer but also for his commitment to giving back to society and creating opportunities for aspiring young footballers.

Through his support for grassroots football, the Nigerian international continues to demonstrate that success in the game goes beyond scoring goals, representing the national team and competing at the highest level.

His recognition highlights the growing importance of using sports as a platform for social impact, youth empowerment and community development.

For Awoniyi, the Beyond the Pitch Award represents recognition of a broader legacy — one built not only on his performances on the football field but also on his efforts to inspire the next generation and make a positive difference in society.

Congratulations to Taiwo Awoniyi on this well-deserved recognition!
