The Chairman of the Nasarawa state Inter-party Advisory Council, Hon. Cletus Ogah Doma has condemned the attack on an All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Abu Giza on Friday.

The Press Nigeria reports that Giza was stripped naked, molested, and humiliated by youths in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital yesterday.

The youths suspected to be supporters of the APC allegedly descended on the chieftain of the party at the Emir’s Palace in Lafia.

The IPAC Chairman encouraged youths to remain neutral and should not allow themselves to be used as agents in the hands of the politicians.

Ogah while describing the molestation of the APC chieftain, as a barbaric, unwholesome act insisted that Nigerians must rise against attack on innocent citizens.

He urged the ruling APC and other political parties to condemn any form of thuggery and violence that might impede the peaceful conduct of the upcoming general elections.

He said, “The yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians to have a credible, peaceful conduct of elections in 2023, must not be allowed in the hands of the politicians causing troubles in the country.

“It is the collective responsibility of all actors and members of of all the political parties to ensure that campaigns are conducted with decorum and in accordance with the rules of the game.”
