The uncle of late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings, born Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, has called on the government, religious leaders, traditional rulers and Nigerians to help investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Sodiq.

Speaking in an interview with Dunmininu, the bereaved family member said the family was deeply pained by the death and wanted the actual cause established.

“We need the help of Nigeria because Sodiq’s death is hurting us. We need the help of important people, from the government down to religious leaders and traditionalists, to help us find out the true cause of his death. Please help us, we, the family of Olayeni,” he said.

He stressed that the family’s appeal for an investigation should not be mistaken for a failure to take action, insisting that it was seeking broader support to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.

“Nobody should question if we have sent anyone to investigate. Yes, we are calling on everyone to help investigate because his death is painful to us,” he added.

The uncle further disclosed that the family had agreed to suspend plans for Sodiq’s burial pending efforts to establish the cause of his death.

“For this reason, nobody should plan to bury Sodiq because we are all very hurt, and the entire family has agreed to put his burial on hold,” he concluded.

The family is seeking support from relevant authorities and other stakeholders to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, as it continues to mourn the loss.
